Dr. V P S Arora is Professor Emeritus and Principal Advisor to Shri Venkateshwara Group of Institutions, with over 47 years of experience in academics and administration in national and international institutions. He earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees from G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management.

Dr. Arora served over 33 years at Pantnagar University, where he held key positions such as Professor, Head of Department of Agricultural Economics, Dean of College of Agribusiness Management (founder), Registrar, and Director of several administrative divisions. He pioneered the MBA (Agribusiness) program, the first under the ICAR-SAU system in India.

He was Vice Chancellor of Kumaun University, Uttarakhand, and Pro-Chancellor/Vice Chancellor of Shri Venkateshwara University, Uttar Pradesh, where he introduced major reforms in academic and administrative systems.

Dr. Arora contributed internationally through consulting projects with IRRI, OECD, APO, FAO, and ADB, and served as Visiting Professor at Alemaya/Haramaya University, Ethiopia. He addressed the UN University, Tokyo and OECD, Paris, on agricultural policies.

His academic contributions include supervising 24 PhD scholars, publishing over 100 research papers, 10 books, and 21 book chapters. He served as Chief Editor of key textbooks in Higher Education and Research Methodology.

He is a recipient of several honors, including the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Award, Uttarakhand Ratan Award, and multiple Lifetime Achievement Awards. Dr. Arora has served in leadership roles in professional bodies such as the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Economics Research Association.
